Healthcare is in our DNA. Founded in 2004 by entrepreneurs with deep roots in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and nanotechnology, LifeCell began with a singular focus: making advanced healthcare technologies accessible to Indian families.

Birth Of LifeCell
When the founders of LifeCell were expecting their first baby, they learned about the opportunity to preserve newborn stem cells in the US. Recognising the life-changing potential of this technology, they were determined not to let it remain accessible to just a few. Leveraging their expertise in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, they licensed the technology from CryoCell, the world’s first stem cell bank, and established India’s first stem cell bank, all before their baby was born. Despite the challenges of pioneering such a new concept in the country, they accomplished this milestone in record time. Today, LifeCell has grown far beyond its first family, benefiting 4.5 lakh+ families and continues to innovate across healthcare, diagnostics, therapeutics, and personal care.

An entrepreneur at heart he relishes creating enterprises that are path breaking. His pursuits have not only included healthcare spheres such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, nanotechnology, but also in other spheres such as animations for motion pictures, robots for precision manufacturing, business process outsourcing, college for women’s education, and even an electric crematorium, this earning the title of being a provider of services right from the womb to the tomb. And what sets him apart is his ability to successfully juggle with these varied enterprises all at the same time, and never seeking to retire.
MAYUR ABHAYA JAIN
Managing Director
Mayur's educational background in biotechnology combined with his continuous pursuit of seeking latest scientific innovations helps drive the agenda at LifeCell. He is a prolific reader of scientific content and loves challenging the status quo which results not only in disruptive market offerings but also in business models that help accelerate market adoption. His previous experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry and six-sigma process thinking has helped in infusing best in class quality standards and practices right into the design phase itself, thus not having to compromise at any point.

For the past 14 years, Sumanth has been a driving force behind the growth and success of LifeCell. He has successfully managed the Supply Chain, Customer Service & Financing, and Business Process Automation functions. Through his exceptional leadership, he has played a crucial role in efficiently delivering numerous new products and services to the market. He has earned several certifications, including Lead Auditor QMS, ISMS NABL certified lead assessor, and Leadership & Creating High-Performance Organizations by IIM.
